Preserved as a witness of such horror, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also known as the Atomic Bomb Dome or Genbaku Dome, was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6 August 1945. It is honestly difficult to describe the chilling effect that such a sight gives you in real life and once in front of this structure, one can only hope that we will soon evolve into more compassionate and peaceful beings, strong enough to put an end to worldwide suffering.
