The visual artist Shirin Neshat discusses the superficiality of the Hollywood elite making bold political statements that only concerns themselves. Shirin Neshat (b.1957) is an award-winning Iranian-born artist and filmmaker renowned for her photography, video installations, and films. She gained international recognition with her Women of Allah series and won the International Jury Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1999. Her directorial debut, Women Without Men, won the Silver Lion at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. Neshat has exhibited at major institutions worldwide, including the Guggenheim and Tate Modern, and received the Praemium Imperiale in 2017.
