A Writer's Experience with Inspiration

[SPOILER WARNING: for Throne of Glass and Arcane] Is it inspired or is it plagiarized? 'Tis a question which plagues me to this day. Here are some thoughts... Discuss the writing process, plagiarism vs. inspiration, and the role TTRPG and fanfiction play in said writing process. For my first video essay discussing the writing craft, I hope you can both agree and disagree with aspects discussed here--I'm all for friendly debate as we hone our craft! Do you agree? Do you resonate with the idea of "magpie-ing" vs. "crow-ing" when it comes to the areas where we take inspiration? And yes, I realize(d) I misspelled "plagiarism" and then didn't change it because I was tired of editing the thumbnail. (I could not find the video where Brennan Lee Mulligan talks about fantasy worlds having ridiculous lack of evolution and societal development in classic "medieval" fantasy.)
