i finally moved everything over to Game Maker Studio 2 (i was on GMS1.4 for a LONG time and finally moved because I seriously want to finish and release this, and GMS1.4 is not up to release standards on most platforms any more) and WOW boy howdy I'm glad I moved over! there's a few things to tweak still with the goop system (no more foreground goop tiles, those need to be redone) but everything else is finally up to GMS2 spec. lots of new background tiles are in. some are imported from BIOMASS: Growth because i gotta use em somewhere. they look great on the Harpyiae outpost but i'm excited to work on new areas outside of the docking bay and these test rooms. but that's not what i really care about at all lmao i'm showing off a new modular weapon build. Laser Pulse Emitter: fires a hitscan-like laser that damages all enemies lined up on it. no knockback to enemies and reduced recoil jump height for portia. Overcharge Capacitor: Reload time increased to 1.5 seconds, but wait 1 second longer to overcharge the magazine. overcharged shots deal 2x damage Heavy Duty Battery: magazine size reduced to 2, but those 2 shots are 2x more damage. recoil increased to compensate for reduced magazine. total damage output: ~4 per shot. the math is a little weird because of how the laser pulse emitter calculates damage. there's a little goof with the laser pulse emitter causing goop to appear on Portia's weapon but i don't feel like re-recording everything lol more enemy types will be worked on soon as well as even more weapon modules. the weapon module menu is also in the works for soon.
