Wide of news conference STORYLINE: Thailand Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej arrived in Indonesia on Wednesday on a state visit to the country after he was elected as Prime Minister last month. The two-day state visit with Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in many areas, including economic, defence and security. Speaking at a joint news conference, Sundaravej said he and Bambang had agreed to establish an annual meeting between the countries, and had discussed areas of cooperation, "including investment, trade, energy security, food security." On the Myanmar issue, Sundaravej said that members of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) were "in the best position to understand and have dialogue with Myanmar government." Indonesia is the sixth country in the region that Sundaravej has visited since becoming Thailand's new prime minister last month. He has also visited Laos, Cambodia and Singapore and Myanmar.
