This text, which is typically taught as an introductory text in long-term Vedanta courses, covers various technical terms in Vedanta and makes a discriminative inquiry into the reality of the Individual, World, and God because the Jiva has mistaken conclusions regarding all three that need to be corrected. The intent of these classes is to systematically go over Introductory Topics in Vedanta as presented by the traditional teachings to build the foundational background that will be helpful for getting a Bird’s Eye view of Vedanta which will then pave the way for entering into the preliminary texts of Vedanta that precede the more advanced texts such as the Bhagavad Gītā and the Upaniṣads. For those already familiar with the teachings, we will also do a deep dive into the foundational aspects that will help further clarify one’s understanding, and strengthen the resolve for the pursuit, addressing possible doubts and misconceptions along the way. Satyan Chidambaran is a full-time student of Vedanta and Sanskrit. He has been studying Vedanta under his Guru, Śrī Swami Paramarthananda ji, since 2003.
