The primary source of foul odor is hydrogen sulfide. It is highly corrosive and toxic in high concentrations. Odor control systems allow us to reduce provide a safer workplace, reduce unpleasant odors, and extend the life of our assets. We control odors using activated carbon at three locations: Influent Pumping Area (2) (3); Preliminary (4) and Primary Treatment (5) Area; and Solids Processing Area (16) (17) (20). The systems are designed to remove 95% of hydrogen sulfide and 98% of total odors. The foul air will be collected under covers and routed to the odor control system. The system comprises a grease filter, fan, demisters, and carbon absorption tanks before the air is released to atmosphere.
