London Zoo Gorillas - Gernot takes Venus, Effie & Alika Pursue him - Kiburi's Troop

In this video you see Gernot wants to play with his younger sister Venus. His other teenage sister Alika realises its best to keep Venus away from a playful Gernot and joins in the chase with Effie as they both follow Gernot around the enclosure as they try to retrieve Venus off him. This video is purely just to show what we filmed on this day of our visit, it is not intended to negatively portray the Zoo's management over the behaviour of it's gorillas. These are gorillas who are wild animals, they are not humans! Baby gorillas are much stronger than baby humans and the behaviour shown in this video is completely normal for gorillas who are simply just interested in the newest addition to their troop and at no point was there any cause for concern. As you can clearly see Effie and even Alika both show maternal instinct in this video by both swiftly deciding to take Venus away from Gernot and of course there was absolutely no need for the Zookeepers to get involved.
