In-N-Out is a California staple. Sadly if you live on the east coast, you might not get to try these awesome burgers. But no worries, because today i'm going to show you how to recreate the classic double double at home. Burger Sauce: -3 tbsp mayonnaise -1 tbsp ketchup -1 tbsp relish -½ tsp sugar -½ tsp vinegar For the burger: -1 small onion, diced -Oil and a pinch of salt -1 slice of tomato -4 dill pickle slices -A few iceberg lettuce leaves -1 burger bun, toasted -2 beef patties (2 oz each) -2 slices American cheese -Yellow mustard Instructions: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, and vinegar. Stir until smooth and set aside. Dice the onion and cook it in a pan over medium-low heat with a bit of oil and a pinch of salt. When the onions start to stick a bit, deglaze with 1/2 of water. Do that 3 times until caramalized. Prepare your garnishes by slicing the tomato, cutting the pickles, and tearing a few crisp lettuce leaves. Toast the inside of your burger bun until lightly golden. Form two 2-ounce beef patties and place them on a hot skillet or griddle. Cook one side until browned, then spread a thin layer of mustard on the raw side before flipping. Once flipped, top each patty with a slice of American cheese and let it melt. To build your burger: start with the bottom bun, spread on some sauce, then layer pickles, tomato, lettuce, one cheesy patty, onions, the second patty, and finish with the top bun.
