It refers to the practical benefits one gets from living a dedicated spiritual or monk-like life. Sutta: A "discourse" or a recorded sermon/teaching given by the Buddha. Contemplative/Ascetic: Someone who leaves ordinary society to focus entirely on spiritual practice, meditation, and self-discipline. Kamma (Karma): The law of cause and effect; the idea that our intentional actions (good or bad) lead to future results. Uposatha: A Buddhist day of observance, similar to a "Sabbath," often occurring on full moon nights for reflection and extra meditation.
