How does an orchestra sound from different seats inside the ensemble? During a rehearsal, audio was recorded at 16 different positions within the orchestra. Each position reveals a distinct mix of timbre, balance, and sound intensity. What you hear depends strongly on where you are sitting or standing. This video lets you listen to these differences and experience how dramatically the orchestral sound changes across locations. It highlights the acoustic reality musicians encounter every day, not the polished sound of a concert hall recording. The visualization was developed as part of the tfoyo.eu project. An interactive version of the orchestral soundscape is available here: 👉 https://muwiserver.univie.ac.at/tfoyo or via the Project Website tfoyo.eu On the interactive Site you can start and stop the music and select individual positions to explore the orchestra from multiple auditory perspectives. This Clip demonstrates some positions. License: Creative Commons CC BY-NC Please credit: tfoyo.eu - Creator by Christoph Reuter & Marik Roos
