This week we (almost) finished the shutters for the ground floor—just in time for the next wave of heat. We gave them their final coat of paint, and they’re now ready to be installed. Meanwhile, the garden keeps us busy: we planted more summer crops, harvested zucchini and eggplant, saved seeds from the first lettuces and arugula, and cleared space for the next round of planting. There was also an unexpected interruption—a dramatic summer storm with lightning flashing across the sky, though not much rain to go with it.
