🎁📦Bethy offers an Object Lesson for Kids on 1 Samuel 16, Samuel anointing David as the new king of Israel. This object lesson is specifically about how God sees us and how it's different from the way people look at each other. "For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." -1 Samuel 16:7 ___________________________________________________________________________________ Questions for Further Discussion: 1) How does God see people? 2) How do people see other people? 3) What was in the first present that looked really good on the outside? 4) What was in the 2nd present that was ugly on the outside? 5) Who did Samuel think was going to be the new king at first? 6) How did God know that David was the right choice to be the next king of Israel? 7) Are you more interested in what people think about you? or are you more interested in what God sees when He looks at you? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Lesson Notes: Here are the instructions for this lesson so you can reproduce this lesson for your kids or class. Materials: -1 beautifully wrapped gift with garbage inside -1 badly wrapped gift with something great inside Directions: -Talk about the 2 gifts and how you see them (one is nice and one is yucky) -show the kids what is inside each gift. -Tell the story of Samuel going to the house of Jesse and looking for the new king of Israel. -Make a comparison between looking at the outside (like Samuel did at first) and picking the oldest, good looking son and the really nice looking gift. -Make a comparison between God choosing David and the package or gift that didn't look all that great on the outside, but the inside was great! -Ask the questions from the lesson and get your class to engage by responding to what they learned. Particularly, that they would be able to apply these truths to their lives. All Scriptures were taken out to the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible. ___________________________________________________________________________________ 📧Parents, you can help your kids contact Bethy by emailing me at bethysbiblebites@gmail.com, or writing us on Facebook. 🟦Follow us on Facebook @BethysBibleBites. 🟥Please Subscribe to our YouTube Channel to help more kids find Biblical Truth. ⛪Physical Address: Calvary Chapel Ontario, Att.
