Harry Potter Slytherin Lookbook

So yesterday I uploaded a Hogwarts House lookbook collab with WiseHufflepuff and I received a lot of comments about my Slytherin inspired look like 'not all Slytherins are evil' and 'this is perpetuating harmful stereotypes' etc. And even though I was just having fun and it was not my intention to stereotype ANYONE (I really just wanted a cool twist at the end of the video), I understood. For a lot of people, their Hogwarts house is a form of identity, it is very personal to them (at least it is to me haha) and for Slytherins to constantly be portrayed as "bad" or "evil" must be extremely disappointing and exhausting. And for me personally, I really love and feel a strong connection to Slytherin house: my boyfriend is a Slytherin, a lot of people I look up to and respect are Slytherins, I myself wish a lot of of time I was more Slytherin. So I made this video. It's the exact same music as the Hogwarts lookbook but with all Slytherin inspired outfits. I did it to show that there are ALL different types of people in Slytherin- with different styles, qualities, and personalities. Each Hogwarts 'stereotype' can be found in every house. There are "brave" Ravenclaws, "kind" Gryffindors, "intelligent" Slytherins, and "evil" Hufflepuffs. So even if you are a Slytherin and none of these outfits appeal to you, that's okay! Every person is defined in their own way, that's what makes you so special and unique! That's why the Harry Potter community is so incredible, because it is so loving and accepting of the person that you are. So here's to Slytherin house!
