In this video, we used our free time over the weekend to explore South Cork in just 8 hours. We started our journey from Bishopstown and headed to Nohoval Cove in Reaniesglen, South Cork. Nohoval Cove is a remote location with no lifeguard service. Due to crashing waves and jagged rocks, swimming here is highly discouraged—the risk is simply too high. Instead, take time to appreciate the unique rock formations and the breathtaking coastal views. After Nohoval Cove, we visited Rocky Bay, which is only 10 minutes away. Rocky Bay Beach faces south and is approximately 300 meters in length. It’s a popular destination all year round. The beach is accessed via a narrow entrance from a local road. However, parking is limited, so the area can become quite crowded, especially during peak times. After exploring Rocky Bay, we traveled about 20 kilometers to Crosshaven Harbour. Visiting Crosshaven Harbour in County Cork offers a variety of experiences—from maritime activities to historical sites and scenic coastal views. You can enjoy sailing, kayaking, or sea fishing, or explore the historic Camden Fort Meagher. Walking, cycling, and dining in local restaurants are also popular activities, with opportunities to learn about the region’s rich history and folklore.
