Is it worth it or not What is Phlebotomy Technician/Phlebotomist: Phlebotomy technicians are healthcare professionals responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients. They are skilled in performing various procedures such as venipuncture, micro-collection, and specimen processing while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality. People who should consider it: Anyone interested in getting your foot in the door! It’ll be a good way to be exposed to a hospital environment if that is the route you are going for but I highly suggest that anybody interested in lab work and nursing should at least take a workshop or some sort of training in phlebotomy if it is not offered at your school. With the certification, you will make more money than the average student would at a typical job like MCDonald’s, for example. Not bashing anybody who works at MCDonald because a bag is a bag but it’s a good investment in yourself.
