I interview Melody Valenzuela, an Educational Therapist from Rapport Education. We talk about what an educational therapist is and how they are different than a tutor. Melody shares how Educational Therapists need to make learning safe and how they need to burden the responsibility of teaching, so that kids, who are underdogs, can be free to learn. Melody's position on seeking to understand the "whys," not the "whats," is what distinctly sets her apart in the field. We also explore the "s-word," or shame and how shame suppresses all.
