75 years ago, on April Fools day 1949 Lee Miller and Roland Penrose got the keys to Farley Farm in East Sussex. For the 35 years that followed they filled their home with an unparalleled collection of contemporary art treasures and were visited by some of the key figures in 20th Century art. Picasso, Dorothea Tanning, Dora Marr, Bridget Riley, Joan Miró and many more visited Lee and Roland at Farleys, inspired by the home and its surrounding landscape, by Lee Miller’s cooking and connecting with other artists and creatives. In this series Farleys celebrates it's 75 years by looking back at its past and records memories of those that still remember Farleys, Lee Miller and Roland Penrose. Ami Bouhassane, co-Director of the Farleys House & Gallery, the Lee Miller Archives and Lee Miller and Roland Penrose's granddaughter, interviews a cross section of Friends and guests to Farleys and asks what they remember. In this episode she speaks to Claudia Ives, daughter of Henry and Bettina McNulty who were frequent visitors to Farleys. Bettina was Lee Miller's best friend in her cooking years.
