With the latest firmware, DrayTek routers now support hardware redundancy by using VRRP, a powerful solution for network redundancy and reliability. VRRP stands for Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol, and is a networking protocol that provides automatic backup for network devices, ensuring continuous network access, even if a router fails. Note that VRRP requires that each router has its own WAN source. Tip: 03:53 The current Master router can also be determined by entering the virtual IP address into a web browser. The resulting web UI will be that of the current master router. Likewise, pinging or logging into each router's actual IP address will reveal if either is down.
