Decided to do an ice retention test on my trusty Lifetime cooler for anyone curious as to their efficiency. I decided to cut the review portion because the video got kind of long, but for those interested here it is: I’ve had this cooler for just over two years. It’s tough as nails, has been on more adventures than I can count, has served as a seat and a step stool many times over and the latches, seal and exterior are still completely sound. For a fraction of the cost of a Yeti, this is a gear-buy I have never regretted. It will get me through a weekend, and with a second bag of ice, through an entire week. To be fair, I didn’t give this cooler the best chances for this video by only packing it half full. But imma be honest with y’all…with bags of ice currently at 6$, I wasn’t about to spend 25$ to make this video and just dump the melt-water on the crispy grass. But it did serve as a control, and was proof of concept of at least 48 hours of cooling ability. Tips for extending ice retention: Keep coolers in the house before use (not garage or shed) Precool with ice or ice packs before loading Pack coolers as full as possible Keep coolers out of direct sunlight as much as possible Use frozen water bottles or a large ice pack to bolster retention Thanks for watching!
