February Pickups | Retro Games, Japanese Guides, Thrift Vinyl, Pokémon, Arkham Knight & More Chasers… February turned into one of those beautifully chaotic pickup months where retro games, Japanese imports, thrift shop media, and total oddball collectibles all collide on the same table. This wasn’t a focused hunt. It was pure wandering curiosity. And somehow that always delivers. Here’s everything that followed me home this month: 🎁 Empty Labubu Box No figure inside. Just the box. And somehow that makes it even better. If you know Labubu, you know the aesthetic alone is collectible. Display energy. Shelf presence. Mystery intact. 🎴 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – Stellar Crown Trainer Box Nothing taps into childhood dopamine like cracking sealed Pokémon product. The Stellar Crown Trainer Box brings modern Pokémon TCG hype with that timeless “maybe this is the pack” feeling. Sealed Pokémon always feels like holding potential in your hands. 📀 Thrifted Vinyl Records & CDs The thrift gods smiled. A mix of vinyl pressings and random CDs pulled from dusty shelves. There’s something deeply satisfying about rescuing physical music from obscurity. Analog crackle. Jewel case nostalgia. Zero algorithm. 📀 Kill Bill Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 (DVD) Early 2000s DVD shelf royalty. Two volumes. One revenge saga. Physical media still hits differently when it’s sitting on your own shelf. 🕹️ Asteroids – Atari 2600 (Complete in Box) Arcade chaos distilled into cartridge form. A complete in box Atari 2600 classic is pure retro energy. The box art alone feels like a museum piece from the dawn of home gaming. 🇯🇵 Dragon Quest XI (Nintendo 3DS, Japanese Version) There’s something special about Japanese 3DS releases. Different packaging. Different vibe. Dragon Quest XI continues one of the most beloved JRPG legacies ever created, and the Japanese version just feels right in the collection. 📚 Japanese Dragon Quest IX Guide 📚 Japanese Guide – Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne 📚 Japanese Guides – Dragon Quest Monsters Series 📚 Terry’s Wonderland 3-D Guide 📚 Dragon Quest Monsters Joker Guide Stacked strategy books from Japan just hit differently. Dense layouts. Enemy charts. Maps. Art. Lore. Even if you don’t read every word, they feel important. Tangible history from peak JRPG culture. 📰 Game Informer #373 – Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Cover Print gaming media still matters. A Dragon Quest cover always pulls me in. Game Informer magazines are time capsules of hype cycles past. 🗞️ Weekly Famitsu #1818 This issue features coverage highlighting Atelier Resleriana and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth era excitement. Famitsu remains one of Japan’s most respected gaming publications, and grabbing modern Japanese print media always feels like securing a slice of industry history. 📰 PlayStation Magazine – Borderlands 2 Cover Vault Hunter era nostalgia in glossy form. Borderlands 2 on a physical magazine cover takes you right back to midnight launches and co-op chaos. 📰 Game Informer #319 – Pokémon Sword & Shield Cover Sword & Shield marked a major generational shift for Pokémon. Another magazine time capsule from a major franchise moment. 🎮 Dustborn Special Edition (PS5) Modern collectible energy. Special editions always add that premium shelf appeal. 🎮 Sealed Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4) A sealed copy of Arkham Knight? In the wild? Yes please. One of the most visually ambitious Batman games ever made, and keeping it sealed adds long-term collector intrigue. 📦 Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (PSP Box Only) Box-only finds are weirdly charming. It’s incomplete… but that almost makes it cooler. Bogus Journey nostalgia in handheld display form. 👕 Goodwill Graphic Tee Haul • SpongeBob • Gloomy Bear • Lucero Tour Shirt (2015) • The Goonies shirt featuring Sloth Thrifted shirts are wearable nostalgia. Band tees. Cartoon chaos. 80s movie icons. All rescued from the rack and given a second life. This month wasn’t about one big grail. It was about variety. Print media. Japanese imports. Retro cartridges. Modern sealed games. Thrift shop music. Clothing. Pure chasing randomness. Let me know in the comments: • What’s your favorite item from this haul? • Are you still collecting physical magazines? • Do you grab Japanese guides even if you can’t fully read them? Thanks for watching. Thanks for chasing. See you in the next one. #retrogaming #videogamehaul #thriftfinds #vinylrecords #CDcollecting #GameInformer #WeeklyFamitsu #DragonQuest #ShinMegamiTensei #Atari2600 #PS4 #PS5 #ArkhamKnight #Dustborn #PokemonTCG #PokemonScarletViolet #JRPG #GameGuides #RetroCollecting #PhysicalMedia #GoodwillFinds #GraphicTees #90sNostalgia #80sMovies #CollectorLife #GameRoom #RetroGamingCommunity #NostalgiaCore #radchaser #sonofradchaser #tokyoelvis
