In this video I show a 550 gallon rain water tank holding system. It is fed with a rerouted eves trough. Where the water runs from the eves spout, into the eves trough pipe is covered with a piece of screen, to help keep out debris. Covering the tanks is recommended to prevent algae build up, and to protect the plastic tanks from becoming brittle from the sun. The water in these tanks is completely clear, and they were filled 5 months ago. The tanks are joined together with PVC pipe, with a gravity fed attached faucet. The system total was $285 dollars. The water from this system is free.
