SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — ATV enthusiasts across the southwestern Pa area have something to look forward to. An ATV trail plan across Somerset County is officially in the works, and county leaders say it could mean big things for the region. Somerset County Commissioner Brian Fotchman said that last year, the county received an $80,000 grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Now, he said the county is using those funds to partner with the engineering firm Civil and Environmental Consultants, or CEC. He said a growing number of municipalities across the county are passing ordinances to allow ATV traffic on their roads, with Windber Borough being the latest to allow the vehicle.
