One of a kind This was a short but a very underrated run. RVD was in AJPW from his early days in the business, the Sheik connection probably helped there. It is so cool seeing young Rob facing legends like Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi, and teaming with someone like Hansen as a youngster. He also had some bangers (cough cough check my shorts cough) in the Jr. Heavyweight division and some fun tag matches. Great battles against Sabu and a couple title challenges against Kroffat, Ogawa and Kikuchi, respectively. If you want to watch any of these matches, I couldn't recommend the Dan Kroffat match more. These matches were ahead of their time and while All Japan's Juniors division wasn't as consistent as the New Japan's, I believe it deserves to be talked about more these days. He arrived in ECW while still doing All Japan tours, and as this was before his main event run in ECW, you wouldn't see all that the man could do, but you got a very good Van Dam here. One of the most incredible, agile, athletic and entertaining perfomers ever, Rob Van Dam has been doing this for a very long time and somehow is still doing it well into his 50s. And he doesn't even seem like he lost a beat even by a little bit. He has been one of my favorites to watch and, honestly, I didn't even know he had a run, like a real run, in All Japan until my Kroffat video, which is really cool about me having this channel, I get to find out a lot of new stuff I didn't know before.
