Sailing the Nile River in Aswan, Egypt. From our home base on Elephantine Island in Aswan, we spent a day sailing on the Nile River on a felucca. We were lucky to be guided by Mostafa, a Nubian man who lives on Elephantine Island! He took us to see the wonders of ancient Egypt, showed us around a local beach and the surrounding Nubian villages, and pointed out the numerous species of birds that flock to Aswan in the wintertime.
