This 1960’s split-level Coquitlam, BC home was in need of multiple exterior updates as well as an interior refresh. The first phase was the interior. Since the homeowners wanted an open-concept living area to better suit their family of seven, we took down walls to achieve a brighter, multifunctional space. The reconfigured kitchen layout is more efficient and creates room for a large island, beverage bar, and a study nook. A 9-ft multi slide patio door provides access to more living space on the new covered deck and maximizes daylight flowing into the home. In the living room, an updated fireplace with built-ins creates a beautiful focal point. A neutral color scheme forms the foundation of this transitional style home, with cohesive materials such as wood, glossy tile, and soft gold accents.
