This piece explores a childhood anxiety that I had. growing up with Misophonia means some sounds can create feelings of anger, sadness, and fear, especially louder noises. The worst sound by far was the three-cadence ringing of the fire alarm. That fear dominated so much of me and who I was. I decided it was time to take control. The main theme of this piece is the three-cadence pattern from the fire alarm. I thought an interesting way to portray these complicated feelings would be through an odd meter, so you'll find that most of this is written in 7/4.
