This video forms part of NAFSAN’s Stories of Change clips, documenting the experiences of leaders from Namibian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working to advance nutrition, food security, and public health in Namibia. They were recorded several months after these leaders participated in an interactive Training-for-Facilitators on Nutrition for Health: Embracing our Namibian Food Systems (https://nafsan.org/n4h) These ‘Stories of Change’ demonstrate how this training, awareness raising, and nutrition dialogues can inspire local actions, such as taking up gardening at home and/or sharing nutritional knowledge with community members. These stories also show how such actions contribute to improved health outcomes, greater resilience at household level and overall, more sustainable food systems. Cedric /Howaseb works with young people at Hoachanas Children Fund in Namibia’s Hardap region, and he mainly reflects on how nutrition training reshaped his understanding of healthy eating especially around sugar consumption and balanced diets. Today, he is not only changing his own habits but he also guides children and families toward healthier choices. It is important for him to help shape a whole new generation and ensure that they are more informed and empowered about food right from the start. Most importantly, it highlights the need for inclusive bottom-up approach, because lasting change starts at community level. All clips of this series can be downloaded and screened free of charge for non-commercial educational purposes and/or to inspire positive change. These videos were produced during NAFSAN’s project “Nutrition for Health – Ensuring good Nutrition Practices for All” (July 2024 to August 2025), and we are deeply grateful to the Commonwealth Foundation (https://commonwealthfoundation.com) for their support in producing and finalizing these clips, as well as their support in training over 60 Namibians on Nutrition-for-Health: Embracing our Namibian Food Systems (www.nafsan.org/n4h) and building capacity within 25 CSOs to improve nutrition through practical engagements and community dialogues - https://nutritiondialogues.org We also appreciate the support from GIZ, the German Development Corporation - https://www.giz.de/en and their global Food Systems Transformation project that also has a footprint in Namibia: https://www.nafsan.org/wp-content/upl...
