See how to replace the prop shaft on a MerCruiser Bravo One outdrive lower unit in this video from Boats.net. MerCruiser has changed the assembly on the propshaft for this unit. A few parts have changed, and John will explain and we’ll get into the upgrade. After we drain the lower unit, the disassembly starts by getting the old lockring off and the bearing housing out. We’re using a lockring tool from Marine-Tech to get the lockring out. With that done, we have some work to do on the old output shaft. A washer underneath the bearing will be reused on the new output shaft, so we’ll need to use a press to get the old bearing off. With that done, we’ll add the washer and a new bearing to the new output shaft and get started putting everything back together. This is a slightly different assembly, and John will walk you through it. However, we did have some difficulty getting the lockring all the way down. We’re going to use a thread chaser to clean the threads and then finish reassembling the unit. Parts and diagrams for the Bravo One: https://www.boats.net/catalog/mercrui...
