"You just wait, Mister!" he said, pointing a finger at his own reflection. He couldn't tell what his reflection was pointing at. It was the reflection of the Hamburger Helper hand, whose face, as you know, is on its own palm. So when he's clenching his thumb and other fingers in order to point, it obscures his vision of the thing he hopes he's pointing at. Today he hoped he was pointing at a rather impatient chap in the waiting room, but unfortunately there was a mirror right next to that chap, and well, he effectively missed. Which means he was pointing at himself, and any command he issued himself had to be followed, pursuant to article 5, section B of the waiting room bylaws, which clearly state: "He what pointeth, commandeth. And he what's pointed to, obeyeth. Obeyeth Wan Kanobieth. By Kenner." And so he waited. And waited. And waited and waited and waited until at last the impatient chap approached him and said, "You hath shewn me by example, O begloved hand with a face on it, and presently unto you I shall bestow the greatest of all blessings. For you see, this was just a test. My name is Job, pronounced Jobe, and I failed the test. Not like in that other book, where I passed loads of 'em. Well, I tell you what—I'm sick of these tests. I'm sick of speaking with all these archaic suffixes and inverted syntaxes. I long for the simplicity of illiteracy." And with that, Job bestowed on the hamburger helper hand a grace for which the hamburger helper hand had been praying since he arrived—the grace of forgetting the waiting room bylaws, and verily didst the both of them disperse and finally attend to their various appointments.
