Welcome to the Dr. Joe Show - Cigar Review Episode No.27: The Draig Limitado Series "Cayuquero," by Emilio Cigars! In Welsh, "Draig" means Dragon, (the red dragon, or "Y Ddraig Goch" appears on the national flag of Wales) and as far as cigars go, this one lives up to the name. Spicy, loaded with flavor and above all, powerful. In terms of strength, this smoke is at the top. Cayuquero, on the other hand, is a nick-name of sorts. It means, "trouble-maker," and in Cayuco, located in the Pinar Del Rio province of Cuba, those who are known for causing such trouble are labeled accordingly. So in essence, what we have here, is a "trouble-maker dragon" - and I really think that fits the bill when it comes to this here cigar! These cigars are rolled at the Rojas factory in Nicaragua using filler from both Esteli and the Jalapa valley. The wrapper however is a Brazilian Aripiraca wrapper (Aripiraca is a town in the Algoas region of Brazil, often referred to as the "Brazilian tobacco capital," as it is widely known for tobacco trade and production. I had a blast veering off the beaten path and reviewing this smoke. Lots of flavor, LOTS of power - it definitely possessed qualities that were expected and unexpected both.
