Todays installment continues with the F.A.R. & Nasty tour in Nevada where we exercised our freedom to record on the public sidewalks outside this Chick Fil A location. We were met with some curiosity from a couple of the employees, at first asking if we had permission to record the drive thru. I informed them that we did indeed have permission, not from anyone on the property. In fact, we not only have permission, but the constitution gives us the right. Soon after the encounter with the young man, a woman who appeared to be part of the management team came out with her phone in hand, letting us know that her boss wanted to talk with us. We spoke with the G.M. as he was attempting to figure out what exactly was going on. We informed him that we were on the public sidewalk & hadn't been on the private property. Thankfully, Kyle (the G.M.) acknowledged our right to do what we were doing on the public sidewalk before the woman returned back onto property without further contact. Some time had passed & to our surprise, Kyle showed up in person to see first hand what was going on. The way he represented the company was one of the best encounters I've ever been a part of. He offered us waters & even invited us to come inside to get out of the heat, asking that we don't record inside the establishment. We declined the invite & acknowledged that if we were to go inside, we'd be respectful of course regarding their no recording inside policy. As I was doing my close out, Kyle once again came out with 2 bottles of water for us & extended the invitation once again to get out of the heat for a bit, as it was pushing 100 degrees outside. Since he was so kind, I let him know exactly what we were doing, conducting a First Amendment audit. Kyle let us know he was aware of the type of videos as he'd seen some of the post office audit videos of other content creators online. As for me, this Chick Fil A gets a pass. the employees did the right thing in contacting their G.M. for guidance & kudos to Kyle for how he handled everything.
