Performing 'Harivarasanam,' the beautiful devotional lullaby dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, was an unforgettable experience at the 62nd Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava on 17th September 2024, held at Sri Sringeri Shankara Matha, Bangalore. This song, recited nightly at the Sabarimala temple, has touched countless hearts across southern India, especially after it was popularized in the 1975 Malayalam film 'Swami Ayyappan.' With its roots in the divine Madhyamavati raga, composed by the late G. Devarajan and immortalized by the legendary K. J. Yesudas, 'Harivarasanam' holds a special place in my heart. I’m truly honored to have rendered this soulful composition during my concert.
