Because of the corona crisis, we all miss the connection with our fellow human beings. With this "connection" as the underlying idea, this new project came about. Music breaks boundaries and bridges distance between people. With the song "A song for change" by conductor Florence Joosten and Wouter Souvereyns, Vocal Fun supports WSM, former World Solidarity. The pop choir Vocal Fun has been an established name in the Hasselt music world for 15 years. With her pop songs and sing-alongs, it always creates atmosphere and ambiance at various festivities. The WSM partner organizations are setting up concrete actions for the many people who are threatened by corona. Not only in our country, but worldwide. A shortage of health care infrastructure and medical equipment, a lack of food and drinking water and inadequate social protection make it difficult to manage the crisis in many countries. In those countries, WSM's partners take concrete actions to support the population. "Health clinics in Burkina Faso, Benin and Mali provide prevention advice with mobile clinics," says André Kiekens of WSM. "They distribute soap and mouth masks and set up their own health centers as well as possible to accommodate additional patients. They urge local governments to provide clear guidelines for the population. In Bangladesh, health organization GK developed an affordable corona blood test. The GK health workers work hard to sensitize as many people as possible and distribute food packages to those who end up on the street. In the Dominican Republic, MOSCTHA and FEI organizations are setting up a prevention campaign for Haitian migrants, providing care for infected persons and distributing food. In Guatemala, partner MOJOCA does the same for street youth. And in Nepal, unions reached an agreement with the government on relief packages for workers." "Because solidarity extends beyond national borders, our partners can count on WSM's special emergency fund to finance their actions," André Kiekens adds. "And of course all gifts are still welcome. Only together can we tackle a crisis of this magnitude. " Send this "Song for Change" around the world. The coronavirus spreads, but so does solidarity. We're sending all of our love and support all over the world. We connect and make change happen. Sharing is caring! Listen and sing along on the FB page of Vocal Fun and WSM.
