There are2 levels. Level 1 is state level and if you qualify in this round, you are eligible to write the second level which is a national level exam. NTSE has 2 papers : MAT and SAT. Both have 100 multiple-choice questions. 1 mark is allotted for every correct answer. There is no negative marking. The allotted time for each paper is 2hours.
