Episode 30 - We assemble a Biomass facility in the basement. We need a Fermenter, Fertilizer, Stills, and a little AE to get it all automated. Saplings or Leaves and what are Plant Balls? Well we are talking about feed stock for a renewable Biomass fuel generation. 1 Plant Balls = 8 leaves = 0.4 a buckets of biomass 1 Sapling = 0.8 a buckets of biomass 1 tree with 3 saplings and 0.8 bucket per sapling = 2.4 buckets 1 average tree has about 50 leaves and 8 leaves per plant ball is 0.4 * 6.25 = 2.5 buckets and must be compressed before being used in a Fermenter. The output of Biomass can be better then this if the tree is larger then normal. Kinda close so why bother right? But... With plant balls you get no saplings (I can use Steve for sapling replenishing), and with saplings you aren't always going to get 3 all the time and you still need one to replant the tree. Using plant balls adds a little complication but it can still be automated and it yields more biomass in practice.
