The IJssportcentrum in Eindhoven hosted a lively U17 matchup on December 20, 2025, as the Eindhoven Kemphanen U17 welcomed the Utrecht Dragons U17. The visitors ultimately skated away with a 5-3 victory, largely thanks to a clinical performance on the power play. The first period was a tightly contested affair, with both teams feeling each other out. It wasn't until the final minute of the frame that the deadlock was broken. With just 46 seconds remaining on the clock, Utrecht’s Fynn Hellwig found the back of the net, assisted by Liz Baldinger and Jonathan Denie, sending the Dragons into the first intermission with a slim 1-0 lead. The Dragons doubled their advantage midway through the second period.Capitalizing on a hooking penalty to Eindhoven’s Tim Geurts, Fynn Hellwig struck again for his second goal of the night, this time on the power play, assisted by Kristel den Boer and Eden Bos. Utrecht made a goaltending change shortly after, swapping Luka Treffers for Jochem Dorrestijn. The Kemphanen managed to get on the board late in the period when captain Finn Domhof scored an even-strength goal, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and keeping the home team within striking distance heading into the final twenty minutes. However, the third period belonged to the Dragons' special teams. Eindhoven ran into penalty trouble, and Utrecht made them pay dearly. Jonathan Denie restored the two-goal cushion with a power-play marker at 49:49. Minutes later, after another Eindhoven penalty, Jesse van Doorn added another power-play goal to make it 4-1. The Dragons weren't finished; following yet another infraction by the home team, Jonathan Denie netted his second goal of the game—and Utrecht’s fourth power-play goal of the night—to extend the lead to a commanding 5-1 with less than two minutes to play. Despite the deficit, the Kemphanen refused to give up. In a flurry of late action, Neill Swinkels scored at 58:49, and Finn Domhof added his second goal of the game just 17 seconds later. While this late surge narrowed the gap, it was too little, too late, and the Utrecht Dragons secured the 5-3 road win, driven by Fynn Hellwig’s four-point night and a dominant power-play unit. https://api.hockeydata.net/data/ih/Ga...
