#vocaloid #hatsunemiku bro why was this video so hard to edit 😭😭 anyway! these are just silly english translyrics i wrote for cherry pop. i love writing translyrics for vocal synth songs in my free time bc it helps me understand and learn jp better than textbooks and classes :'D i wanna say that when i simply translate a song, i try my best to keep its original meaning (or at least what i think it's supposed to mean and what the artist tried to say), so i usually make minimum changes and i allow myself to get more "creative" only when i'm sure i'll still be able to keep the meaning even with these changes. but when i'm writing something like translyrics, i focus more on. well making the lyrics singable. or at least KIND OF. of course i still try my best to keep the lyrics accurate but some things definitely can get lost in translation. what i'm trying to say is that when it comes to translyrics, i'm more focused on making sure the lyrics actually sound like. well, a song! so i can't say that my translyrics are 100% accurate. it's more of a form of art than a form of translation for me :) thanks for reading. i understand that the lyrics might be very hard to read bc of how fast the song is, so please click on cc if "classic" subs are more comfortable for you. the original song has light sexual themes and i admit i kinda doubled down on them while writing these lyrics haha. if you're not comfortable with that i completely understand. [TRANSLATION NOTES] these translyrics were written based on the original jp lyrics and not the official eng translation. 00:18 yes this is a silly watamote reference. i thought it'd fit here :D 00:23 the official eng translation says something like "mr. can't-get-serious". i feel like "mr. can't-choose-a-favorite" is closer to the original lyrics. so basically miku is either calling this guy a womanizer or calling him out for his indecisiveness lol 00:39 .. is it okay to say i don't really like the official eng translation of this part 😭😭 i hope i'm not the only one who was a bit confused by it. i had no idea what "DD" meant here and the vocaloid lyrics wiki says it's most likely a reference to "dare demo daisuki" ("i love anyone"), which is a japanese term that's used to refer to people who like multiple idols in the same group or maybe they have a lot of favorite vtubers. so basically it's something like multibias in kpop haha. and it's a cool idea to translate it like that, but also.. i don't think it's a very mainstream term, at least in english-speaking countries?.. the original meaning of that part is something like "doesn't it feel nice to be loved?". 00:42 tbh at first i thought maybe this part means "which one of us is scary" but considering the official translation, maybe it means something like. the fact that the listener character refuses to get serious with anyone and treats his partners carelessly scares miku? also, yes i used the cherry themes as an innuendo in some parts haha. one of the comments on the original video said that cherries have a short season and cherry themes could be a reference to this relationship not lasting long which is a very cool interpretation! there's a lot of ways this song can be interpreted and these are just some of them. 00:45 the original lyrics say something like "no, not really, no way, no way, well, it's whatever, no way, no way". i interpreted it as the guy not really caring about his girlfriends or "forcing" himself to be interested in them just because he likes the feeling of love and being loved, but not the girls themselves. 01:33 the original lyrics are pretty much the same as the official translation and they say something like "please disinfect, salute to pureness". i interpreted it as miku feeling "dirty" after dating that guy or maybe simply catching feelings for him and trying to distance herself from him. 01:43 the original says something like "seriously..." but i thought "i'm so tired" would flow better (?). maybe. PHEW i think that's all. apologies for so much yapping haha.
