Today I visited Parroquia La Asunción, one of the most historic and meaningful churches in Masaya, Nicaragua. Often called the heart of Masaya, this beautiful colonial-era church sits right in the city center and has been a spiritual and cultural landmark for generations. Parroquia La Asunción dates back to the 1600s, making it one of the oldest Catholic churches in the region. It has survived earthquakes, rebuilds, and centuries of change, and today it remains an important symbol of faith and community for the people of Masaya. The church is especially known for its annual celebrations dedicated to La Virgen de la Asunción, which bring thousands of locals together every August. In this video, I walk through the inside of the church and show its architecture, artwork, and peaceful atmosphere.
