Watch and share this engaging conversation with Mo Green (D) and Michele Morrow (R), the candidates for NC State Superintendent of Public Instruction, moderated by Xavier Adams (2022 NC Beginning Teacher of the Year) at the 2024 Latine Education Summit in Winston-Salem, NC, hosted by LatinxEd on September 13, 2024. This dynamic discussion is historic for two key reasons: it marks the first time both candidates have shared the stage in person and together, and it represents a rare and valuable engagement directly with our community. We deeply appreciate this opportunity and the candidates' participation and engagement in addressing our areas of interest and concerns. Built by Southern Latine education leaders, LatinxEd is a North Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing Latine leadership and participation in higher education. By providing culturally relevant leadership development resources, post-secondary guidance, education advocacy tools, and access to a strong North Carolina network, LatinxEd strives to create a world where the systems meant to shape us can be shaped by us. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, LatinxEd does not endorse any candidates. Our focus remains on elevating and addressing educational issues impacting the Latine community. We encourage more dialogues that highlight and address our needs and perspectives. Last but not least, we urge everyone who can to register to vote and make your voice heard. Your vote matters.
