The I-290/I-88 Interchange at I-294 is one of the most important interchanges on the Tollway system. Every day as many as 300,000 vehicles use it. The interchange is not only an important connection for commuter and local traffic, but it is an important part of the freight network. Commuters, businesses and freight carriers expressed the need to fix this interchange throughout the development of the concept. Proposed improvements will reduce congestion, improve safety and address operational issues as well as infrastructure conditions.
