Part Three of the video series in which we explore the history and archeology of the Winfield Mounds, the prehistoric effigy mounds and associated village site, located in the Winfield Mounds Forest Preserve in Winfield, Illinois. This third episode describes the 1975 and 1976 Wheaton College excavations along the west banks of the DuPage River in Winfield, Illinois, which centered on a Native American settlement area, as well as the excavation of one of the Player Group effigy mounds just 100 or so yards to the west of the settlement. This video also features an informative overview of the Wheaton College artifacts, provided by Peter Geraci of the University of Wisconsin @ Milwaukee. Thanks for watching! We hope that you find this interesting and informative!
