The Valley First Granfondo Axel Merckx was held in the sunny sanctuary of the Okanagan Valley on July 10th, 2011, and was a tremendous success. Thanks to the combined efforts of coordinators, volunteers and vivacious cyclists eager to test their mettle (for sport or leisure), the ride was a winner, and those who manned the aid stations had an experience they will not soon forget. This video is a chronicle of one such fork-in-the-road. Held just outside the mighty oaken doors of the titular winery which hosted it, the La Vieux Pin station was a rest-stop for some, a pit stop for others, and for those more patient folk: a sensational social gathering filled with good food, good people and good times.
