Coaster Double Set and Morning Trains Through Carlsbad Village, CA!

The last morning of the trip to SoCal was pretty eventful. Not only was the wind going crazy where rain would dump later in the afternoon, but a northbound Coaster broked down in Sorrento Valley. Their charger, NCTC 5009, had a complete failure with no engine or HEP operable. That meant a rescue train had to be sent up to couple onto the dead trainset and tow it back to Stuart Mesa yard. It was a cool catch and definitely not something you see everyday. The last train I saw was northbound Amtrak 573 blowing through the Village at 90mph.
