In this video I take you through the installation of a refillable gas system in our elderly Swift motorhome. Fitting a refillable gas system in a caravan (or campervan) should be similar. A refillable gas system is a real bonus if you do a lot of free-camping and therefore use gas quite a lot, particularly in Europe, where they don't have Calor. If you run out of gas there, your only alternatives are to convert to one of their fittings, or to Camping Gaz, which is expensive. Gas cost is around a half to a third of the cost of exchange cylinders, although as you should budget around £500 for the cost of the refillable system, it will take you a lot of free-camping to recover the cost! Think of it as an investment in your peace of mind and an even more relaxed adventure. Below I have listed the parts I needed for my system. Yours almost certainly will be different, although probably not by much. Please note that I give no guarantee that if you follow my video your installation will be safe or will work. I strongly suggest that you get the installation checked by a qualified fitter (as I did).
