Concebida en el 2019 como una noche mensual en un club para 200 personas en Santiago, AEROBICA es hoy una de las fiestas más importantes del underground chileno y también latinoamericano. Pero no sólo eso: también es el nombre del proyecto artístico que une a sus co-fundadores y anfitriones, Nico Castro y Pepo Fernández, dos importantes actores de la escena santiaguina que conectaron mágicamente en DJ sets que ya son reconocidos por entregar altas dosis de energía, mezclando con mucha habilidad estilos como jackin' house, disco, italo, rave y techno sentimental, uniendo clásicos olvidados con joyas difíciles de rastrear. El resultado son sesiones impredecibles y divertidas que se caracterizan por no tener inhibiciones a la hora de hacer bailar. En 2021, su trabajo en el estudio dio sus primeros resultados con el lanzamiento de su EP debut en el sello neoyorquino HOMAGE, cuyas canciones siguen sonando en pistas alrededor del mundo hasta hoy. En 2025 lanzaron Work Me, su esperado segundo EP —a través del sello y colectivo SMIILE, fundado por Chloé Caillet—, además de nuevos remixes y colaboraciones con artistas dentro y fuera de la escena electrónica. Todo esto mientras aumentan su calendario de fechas internacionales —que hasta ahora los ha llevado en varias oportunidades a todo el continente americano, además de tres veces a Europa durante el 2024—, y mantienen la producción de un evento propio en Santiago de foco inclusivo y queer, que se destaca por promover con fuerza el talento latinoamericano y que en seis años dio el salto para recibir a casi dos mil personas por edición. La historia de AEROBICA hasta ahora parece apenas un calentamiento previo. __________________________ Born in 2019 in Santiago as a monthly club night for 200 people, AEROBICA is now one of the hottest parties in the Chilean and Latin American underground. But not just that — it's also the name of the musical project formed by its co-founders and hosts, Nico Castro and Pepo Fernández, two key actors in Santiago's scene who connected magically in the form of DJ sets that are recognized for its high doses of energy, mixing masterfully genres like jackin' house, disco, italo, rave and sentimental techno through forgotten classics and hard to find gems. This translates into unpredictable and fun workout sessions known for having no inhibitions when it comes to making people dance. In 2021, their skills in the studio showed its first results with the release of their debut EP on New York's label HOMAGE, with a string of timeless dance songs that keep being played all over the world. Their awaited second EP, Work Me, came out via SMIILE — the label and collective founded by Chloé Caillet, alongside some new remixes and collaborations with artists within and without the dance music spectrum. All of this while they keep adding dates to an increasingly stacked touring schedule that has already seen them go multiple times all over the Americas and Europe. Simultaneously, the duo keeps promoting their own event in Santiago, known for building an inclusive and queer environment, that serves as a platform to mainly Latin American like-minded artists. After six years and counting, South America's hottest workout gathers nearly 2,000 devoted dancers per edition.
