Wanna learn a cool version of Malaguena using base notes, its a good chance to practice your thumb technique also. Stay tuned. Hey there, welcome back I’m Tomas Michaud founder of Real Guitar Success. This is obviously not a brand new beginner technique but it’s not as hard as it look at first sight. Let’s go ahead and break it down. First of all, let’s get the basic technique. It’s all base on this kind of plucking with my three fingers and then my thumb and makes a great thumb exercise by the way. I think, that’s how I first started doing this since I was just practicing a thumb exercise. So here’s a kind of basic exercise. Make an E chord, put your three fingers on the top three strings, let’s make sure were in tune here. Okay, that’s better so make your E chord and you’re gonna just hit the base of the sixth string, the low E and then pull your three fingers off first three strings that high E to B and the G like that so try that. Base. Now when I make this as a good exercise, I usually run my base through the string and actually brisk slightly on that fifth string, that makes a good full note. If you go like this it’s a weak note – that was awesome, like that. So base and then pull and then do it again. This is your basic exercise, if nothing else, practice this. I like to add the second note, I’ll do the low E and then the fifth string the A. Did you get that? It sounds like this, that’s the exercise, alternate and then add your A minor chord. Move all the fingers over, hit the fifth string that’s the base note and then use the low E as the second like that, alternate. By the way, I’m pulling my fingers into my palm. Try not to pull your whole hand out, it takes too long to get back to where you are so it’s like this. Base and the pull end, see I’m not jerking my hand. (2:47) It takes practice of course so practice that much and just go back and forth, of course slowly at first. This one you hear what the basic exercise sounds like. Then were gonna add the base notes. Let me show you just the base notes and then we’ll put them together. So here’s the basic melody in the base notes, that’s the third fret. Okay let’s do it slowly now. I’m starting on the sixth string, open then the fourth fret, use your pinky you’ll need it and then the second fret fifth string, again, two times. Now hit the open fifth string, third fret, going down to half step to second fret, open. Now we hit the third fret on the sixth string then the first fret, and open. Again, I’ll go a little faster, open , fourth fret, fifth string second, open, fourth fret, fifth string open. Now I’m gonna start on the fifth string, third fret second fret, open, third fret on the second, going down fourth fret and then open. So practice that. --- • Malagueña Bass Note Riff #14 Acoustic Span... w to play la malaguena how to play malaguena how to play malaguena on guitar how to play malaguena on the guitar malaguena guitar lesson spanish guitar lessons - - FREE CHECKLIST Wish you were playing guitar naturally and with complete confidence?
