Sewing Morticia Addams' Iconic Black Dress | Iconic Dresses

Happy Halloween! I'm so excited to be starting a new series I've called 'Iconic Dresses', in which I will be recreating a dress from pop culture or history that I find to be ICONIC! I thought it would be fun to not only start on Halloween but also with Morticia Addams' iconic dress. It is a figure hugging black dress that has evolved minimally over the past 100 years of the Addams Family Comic, Show, Movies, and other iterations. I found the biggest change to be the sleeves, ranging from open bell sleeves to a finger loop sleeve. I've elected to follow an earlier iteration of the dress (sewing draped mesh onto the sleeves),= as I found this to be the most consistent sleeve throughout the years in addition to mimicking the original dress from the comic strip.
