Stretching almost a thousand kilometres from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, it winds its way south through mighty forests and follows the rugged coastline to Albany. Wiradjuri woman Rae Johnston wanted to know whether spending day after day immersed in nature, free from the distractions and pressures of modern life, can actually change you? Along the way, in Kalamunda on the outskirts of Perth, Rae met 18-year-old Zara White, who was reunited with an unlikely hiking buddy. In 2023, Zara set off to walk the Bibb all the way to Albany, and that’s how she met 75-year-old Leo Muncaster. Leo’s a Vietnam vet who’s also a veteran of the Bibb Track – he's walked it end to end many times over the years. Zara grew up hiking the Bibbulman Track with her dad and decided to walk it from end-to-end on one of their camping trips.
