As the country processes the troubling events in the Twin Cities — stories of turmoil, fear and heartbreaking loss — we turned to evangelical Christian leaders in Minneapolis–St. Paul to hear firsthand how this crisis is affecting their communities. Amid grief and uncertainty, we asked how believers are responding, what the atmosphere is like on the ground, and how we can join them in prayer. In this video, NAE President Walter Kim speaks with Carl Nelson, president of Transform Minnesota, a network of pastors and churches across the state, and Yonathan Moya, executive director of Border Perspective. Both are walking closely with congregations and neighborhoods carrying the weight of this moment. We not only want to stand with them in their grief, but also in their prayers, advocacy and practical care for immigrant neighbors and vulnerable communities. Their insights offer both a sobering picture of the challenges in the Twin Cities and a hopeful reminder of the Church’s calling to show up with courage, compassion and truth. Listen in to hear their reflections — and learn how you can be praying alongside our brothers and sisters in Minnesota.
